Chicago Family Photos at Lurie Garden

These Chicago family photos at Lurie Garden and the Art Institute South Garden are full of dreamy, golden hour light! If this family is looking familiar, you’ve seen them before here and here! The boys only get more handsome, I can assure you. The first session I ever did with this family was three years ago, when our littlest guy here was just a few weeks along in his mama’s tummy. It’s been so sweet to watch their family grow!

I’m so glad we changed it up a bit this time and went downtown for their portraits. The Chicago skyline backdrop is from a different angle than I usually get at Lincoln park. You also have the natural elements of the garden tied in. My families typically love a little bit of both. I’ve also taken photos here in the fall and it’s just as stunning, so if you already have your mind spinning about your fall family photos, this could be a great option for you. The green leaves you see here turn a fiery red!

The other part I loved about this session is that mom and dad had some of their wedding photos taken at the Art Institute South Gardens (eight years ago!), and so I tried to re-create that pose for them in the exact same spot as one of their favorite portraits. It was really special to be able to re-live that memory with them. All these years later, they are still madly in love and have two little boys to show for it.

Enjoy a handful of my favorites from these Chicago family photos at Lurie Garden!
