Feminine Blush Baby Girl Shower

A few weekends ago I went home to Virginia for a couple of baby showers to celebrate Little Girl coming in June! I had been looking so forward to going home for the showers, I can’t even believe they have come and gone now! Next week I’ll post the second shower, but this week I’m sharing my Charlottesville one! I was blown away by all of the hard work my mother + sister-in-law put into this special afternoon. There were so many beautiful, sweet, feminine details that had my heart swooning. From the delicate pink florals to the darling measuring spoon favors, so much heart and love was poured into every aspect. Maybe they are just a little bit excited to be a Grandma and an Auntie 😉

The theme for the shower, other than being feminine and blush, was the Bible verse we chose for our daughter, Proverbs 31:25. It’s not a typical baby verse like Psalm 139 or Jeremiah 1:5, but something we chose as a dedication – a verse that we will pray over her life. My MIL pointed out that when God chose names for people in the Bible, they were chosen based on who he saw they would become, not who they were. What a gracious God, that he would not see our sin and let it define us…He defines us. Our prayer is that she would one day be a woman of strength and dignity, and that she would not be fearful of her future, but rejoice in it. Sweet girl, we don’t know who you will be or where you will go or what you will like or not like. It is up to you one day whether you will choose the Lord and love him with all your heart, this I know, but in the mean time, your mama and daddy are praying for you, just like we have been since I saw those two pink lines on the pregnancy test.
