Farmer’s Market Finds

I’m a big fan of farmer’s markets, and this one I found in Lincoln Park was just lovely. In fact, hopefully I can tour other Chicago neighborhood markets throughout the spring and summer and share a series. Every neighborhood in Chicago has it’s own character and vibe, so I’d expect those markets to reflect their unique culture. What a dynamic city I live in! So many things to explore.

This time of year, I’m a sucker for buying overpriced fruits and vegetables at local stands. It’s such an experience, and it’s fun to pause and ask the shop owners where their farms are located, what they grow, how long they’ve been in business, etc. I always find they have such passion, and they don’t mind answering my questions about how to keep my basil plant from dying or caring for my fresh flowers. If I don’t walk away with a bag of veggies, you can bet I bought some fresh blooms.

And on a warm spring day like I had, I took a stroll and found some beautiful colors and swoon worthy porches. This neighborhood is the cutest.
