My primary focus as a photographer is family, child, baby, maternity and newborn portraiture. I recognize and cherish that children are a miracle and a gift. When you invest in photographs of your growing family, you're demonstrating the value of the gift you have been given and placing significance on documenting your legacy. It is my privilege to create images for you that are classic, genuine, bright and full of joy.

I also enjoy other varieties of photography and am available for anniversaries, children’s birthday parties, bridal showers, baby showers and other special family gatherings. I take on a select number of weddings a year.

Currently serving Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

What will my portrait experience look like?

It's simple, really. I work in natural light. We'll pick a spot for your session and let the glow of the sun illustrate your family. I'll keep it honest, easy going and fun. We will schedule your session around sunrise or 90 minutes prior to sunset, as those times yield the most beautiful light for portraits. I place importance on several things in family portraiture…

-A formal family portrait is timeless and I will work with you, through little ones’ tears, shyness, distractions, nose picking or all of the above, to get that picture for you.

-I like to allow the kids a portion of our session to run around and be free from, “Now look at the nice lady with the camera and say cheese.” By giving them this crucial time, I can capture them in their element and truly find who they are.

-While the kids are running around, why don’t you go ahead and run around with them? It is my joy as a portrait photographer to capture the true spirit and character of your family. I’m after pure, natural, silly, authentic family interactions.

-When was the last time, other than your wedding day, that you and your husband had a nice picture taken together (not with your phone)? I thought so. I will set aside a few minutes to get some of just you two. It’s important to remember where it all started.

-I have to admit, I am not a big fan of using trendy props during portrait sessions. I really want these photos to stand the test of time for you and your family. Read more of my thoughts on this subject in this BLOG post!
