Newborn sessions are easily becoming my favorite genre of lifestyle family photography. When families have multiple children, it gets all the more sweet. Incorporating the older kids into the pictures will make any mom heart melt, which is exactly what I’m in business to do! And even if you’re a family of 4 or 5 or more, it’s still important for me to get mom & dad together with their new baby, because even though this process isn’t new to them, this child is new to them. By the looks on their faces, you’d think they’d never held a newborn baby in their arms before. I love to see that look – every child is a gift, straight from God’s hands.

This home was a dream to work in! All the walls, draperies and furniture were a perfect neutral palette, which gave me a blank canvas to work on. More importantly, the more neutral the surroundings, the more focus is on the baby. Limiting distractions can be a challenge in lifestyle newborn photography, but I was dealt a good card with this one! The two older siblings loved the camera and were not the least bit afraid of it. They even kept saying “cheese” long after I had turned my lens to someone else!
